From the book, Assholes: A Theory by Aaron James, here’s his definition of the term:

It’s a person (typically male) who…

1) allows himself to enjoy special advantages and does so systematically;

(2) does this out of an entrenched sense of entitlement; and

(3) is immunized by his sense of entitlement against the complaints of other people.

I’ve acted his way. You have too, most likely. At least a little bit…just that one time. Probably not chronically. Let’s keep it that way. I’ll do my best, you do yours.

And we’ll teach our kids too, right? Especially the typically male ones?

Thanks. I feel better already.
